I’m a writer, digital content producer and personal growth coach committed to helping people discover and create a joyful, rewarding and authentic way of living that is aligned with their core inner values. My clients include entrepreneurs, executives and individuals around the world.
Prior to my life as a blogger and coach, I had a successful career in advertising and marketing in Australia, working for Monster.com, TMP Worldwide and other ad agencies. At 29, I felt the call to entrepreneurship and founded a boutique dotcom PR agency during the internet boom (and managed to escape the bust!) Later, I co-founded a financial advertising agency, working with clients such as Merrill Lynch, UBS, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the Forbes Global CEO Conference.
However, even as an entrepreneur, I began to feel trapped by the demands of corporate culture, long hours and tight deadlines. Outside of work, I privately explored my interests in personal growth and spirituality. Ultimately, I was faced with the question: “How can I find a way to blend my personal passions with my professional talents to make a positive difference in the world?”
In 2005, I took a leap of faith and launched Nibbana, a company that bridged a gap in the market at that time: sharing the messages of personal development and spirituality in a practical, positive and accessible way – through the delivery of live events, educational products and digital content.
Nibbana roughly translates from Burmese as “heaven on earth” and it was my baby! In just 3 years, I grew the company from just $500 to $1M, with almost 10,000 followers from around the globe, making Nibbana one of the fastest growing personal growth businesses in the country, which led to it being profiled in Mobium Group’s report Living LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health & Sustainability) and the marketing book Small Business, Big Brand by Carolyn Tate.
I was featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Women’s Health, Living Now, Spheres, SW, Lorna Jane and MetaCreative magazines and was a regular contributing writer for Inner Self. And, I was a keynote presenter at the Visionary Business Leaders Seminar and spoke to Aware Business groups on topics such as Living Fearlessly.
Nibbana hosted and staged workshops and seminars with world-renowned spiritual growth authors and educators: Dan Millman, author of Peaceful Warrior; Neale Donald Walsch, author of Conversations with God; and several teachers from the movies The Secret and What the Bleep Do We Know!? – inspiring and educating thousands of people around Australia and New Zealand.
It was a true immersion experience, as I embraced their teachings, along with the work of other great luminaries such as Louise Hay, Eckhart Tolle, Dr Wayne Dyer and Dr Michael Beckwith. I also took intensive workshops with Tony Robbins, Dr John Demartini, Bob Proctor, Dr Doreen Virtue, Marianne Williamson, transpersonal therapist Grace Gedeon and Dr Shirley Smith, author of Set Yourself Free.
The experience of traveling, working with and being mentored by so many great teachers was truly a gift, and I am deeply honored that a number of these teachers remain friends and confidants today.
Integrating what I learned from these mentors, while also developing my own set of tools, techniques and practices, has enabled me to change my life in powerful, positive and healthy ways. This has inspired me to share my knowledge and experience with others as they set out on their own journey to creating an authentic, loving and richly rewarding life.
In 2008, on an intuitive hunch, I flew to the USA to attend the LOHAS Conference in Boulder, Colorado. I fell in love with Boulder and the majestic Rocky Mountains and quickly realized this felt like ‘home’. I returned to Australia, packed up my life, closed my business and moved to Boulder – solo – to start over. In 2010, I met my soul-mate Marc, whom I lovingly refer to as “Champion” and we married in 2011. We live just outside Boulder with our dog Coda, and as I write, January 2014, we’re planning an exciting travel adventure that I am excited to share with you, so stay tuned!
